Biological Unit Database 2021 End of Year Statistics Review

As 2021 draws to it's conclusion here in the next few hours, I thought I would be nice to look back on the first "year" of the Database (and our associated profiles elsewhere) and share with you some statistics that may (or may not) pique your interest.

First up, let's go over the Database itself (as of 3 PM of 12-31-21):

  • A total of 4841 visitors have viewed the site's main page, with 894 coming from this month and 932 in November.
  • October 30th was the day we had the most visitors, ending with a whopping 1997 thanks to a shout-out from a post on 2chan in their monthly Biological Unit thread.
  • Rain reigns supreme as her Character Profile entry is the most viewed post on the entire blog with 369 total views. Yurika Misumaru's page came in second with 232 views, and Fan Art Showcase #2 with 180.
  • Speaking of Character Profiles, a total of 13 were posted over the course of six months, three Fan Art Showcases, and three "other" posts were created. 19 posts in all!
Most of our traffic came from Twitter (the "t.co" seen at the top), with Reddit and 2chan coming in second and third.

A majority of our viewers come from Japan, followed closely by the United States. I can only assume the "Other" at the bottom represents our extraterrestrial fans looming just outside of Earth's atmosphere...

Moving over to our official Twitter account, 12921 users checked out the profile, but only 27 decided to follow us in return.

On our YouTube channel, Rain Mikamura once again proves to be the "Core Queen" as her compilation video takes the top spot in terms of views with 143. Julie Mao's video is the runner up with a humble 62.

The Reddit community hit it's highest peak with 627 views back in October, once again due to the 2chan mention.

Finally, our DeviantArt group has accumulated a total of 380 page views, 5 members, and 10 watchers.

I'd like to close out this post with a simple and 100% genuine "thank you" to everyone across all of our Biological Unit communities. It's all of you who have left a comment, an upvote, a like, a retweet, sent an e-mail, or just a simple view of the page that keeps me motivated to continue work on such a daunting project. While we're still relatively new on the scene with a small but dedicated community, there's plenty more characters to profile and fan art to showcase, so I hope you'll stick around for 2022!
