Ruri Miyasaka (Reideen The Superior/Chôsha Raidîn)

Series Overview

Reideen The Superior (also known as Raideen The Superior and Chôsha Raidîn) was animated television series produced by Sunrise which aired a total of 38 episodes from 1996 to 1997. It was a "re-imagining" of the 1975 series Brave Raideen/Raideen The Brave.

Biological Unit

In the series' 25th episode (God Reideen Revived!) the character Ruri Miyasaka is abducted by series antagonist Lushu Demon to power the giant alien mecha God Reideen. Stripped of her clothing, Ruri is placed into a purple pod inside God Reideen's head, and her skin turns a dark grey.

From episode 25 to 28, Ruri's agony and despair power the God Reideen as it begins to level Japan, piloted by Lushu Demon. In episode 28 (The Final Battle! Eagle vs. Lushu), Lushu is defeated, but Ruri remains inside God Reideen. After the battle, God Reideen transforms from a combat-ready robot into a rocket ship, taking off for the deepest depths of outer space. The series' protagonists, The Reideens, try to stop God Reideen from leaving, but are unsuccessful.

God Raideen returns to Earth in episode 37, a little over a year since it's initial departure. After a short battle, God Reideen "surrenders" Ruri and leaves the universe entirely, revealing that it's purpose is to completely annihilate the forces of evil in realities where other Reideens were defeated.
